One of our staff members stopped by the Frankford-Lincoln game this morning to catch the halftime festivities. We knew the game wouldn't be much to see, but the halftime dedication of the memorial to Al Angelo was worth the wait in the oppressive humidity. Anyway, today's game saw more fans for Frankford than we've seen in quite some time (outside of a Thanksgiving Day game or a championship game). There were state proclamations and many words of remembrance for a coach who was and still is a legend in public league football. The photo above is the memorial that is planted in the garden at the North end of Frankford stadium. It’s a very nice tribute to a great guy who gave many years of dedicated service to the school he loved.
